Sila is a privately held U.S. company that founds, owns, and builds enduring businesses by connecting resources to where they create value across the corridor linking America and Asia. We found companies, take long-term positions in others, and hold them — each keeping its own name, team, and customers under a single permanent owner that thinks in decades.
Our roots are in building where connection was hardest. Over more than two decades, our founder's work moved from solar power and rural education to banking, trade, and commodity markets across Asia — a path that taught one durable lesson: the gap between a resource and the people who need it is not permanent. It is an engineering, financing, and trust problem, and it can be solved by owners willing to build.
That conviction became our thesis: resource connectivity through technology is the true source of productivity and growth. It is why our businesses look diverse on the surface and are identical underneath.
At Sila, we prioritize sustainable development and long-term growth for our portfolio companies. Our focus is on creating resilient businesses that can adapt and thrive across changing economic landscapes.
Our core philosophy centers around resource connectivity that spans continents. By leveraging technology and strategic partnerships, Sila enhances productivity and fosters economic development in underserved regions.
We measure ourselves not only in returns, but in classrooms reached, farms powered, and jobs created. For twenty-five years our work has put technology, energy, and capital into the hands of people who had none of them. Returns and impact are not a trade-off at Sila; they are the same discipline seen from two sides. The same patience that builds an enduring business is what builds an enduring school, an electrified village, or a farmer's first reliable harvest. We have directed support to education, health, farmers, small enterprises, and the employment that holds communities together — and we intend for everything we own to keep doing so.
We identify where value is stranded, connect it with technology and operating capability, and hold the resulting business permanently. Our method is the same whether the resource is a commodity, a kilowatt, a data set, or a dollar of working capital.
We find the disconnect — a resource abundant on one side and scarce on the other, held apart by distance, friction, or a gap in trust. The wider the gap, the more durable the business that closes it.
We build the connection — bringing three things to bear at once where most owners bring only one: capital to fund it, technology to make it fast and trustworthy (built in-house through our Aivigator venture studio), and the operating depth and U.S.–Asia corridor relationships to make it real.
We own and compound it — with no exit clock. Connections strengthen with scale and trust, so the longer we hold them, the more productive and defensible they become.
Four principles govern everything we own: permanent ownership (we build to keep), operating partnership (we run alongside management, not above it), capital discipline (durable cash over headline growth; preservation first), and the corridor advantage (two decades of relationships others cannot replicate quickly).
